Garderen as the centerpiece

In the middle of the Veluwe lies Garderen. A tourist village, of old, with luxury recreation parks and four hotels. The village exudes tranquility, greenery and nature. From the center you can cycle as many as five different routes! For example, you can easily cycle to the highest natural lake in the Netherlands the Uddelermeer, which is owned by our royal family. Or a beautiful route along the old trade roads to Harderwijk past Kasteel Staverden. Another highlight is Boshuis Drie, which is tucked away in the woods between Ermelo and Garderen. Are you biking to the southeast? Then you can look over the largest sand drift in Western Europe via the watchtower in Kootwijk. You might even see the cathedral of Radio Kootwijk. This is where the telecom connection was once made between the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies. From Garderen you can also easily visit the Hanseatic city of Harderwijk, with the marching route of the Romans on the heath near Ermelo along the way.
