Veluwe wildlife spotting

The Veluwe is known for its beautiful nature, forests, moors, sandy plains and cozy villages. But the Veluwe is also known for its "Big 5. In other words, the wildlife. To see this wildlife, we have several excursion possibilities in the Veluwe. The Veluwe Specialist of course knows exactly where the Best observation sites are for wildlife viewing.

Gamekeeper Garderen

Between Garderen, Speuld and Putten is a new wildlife sanctuary in a secret place in the middle of the woods. In this oldest forest of the Netherlands there is a lot of wildlife including foxes, deer, wild boars and deer. Wonderful to see and hear! In a wildlife sanctuary you have to be very quiet. The route towards it is therefore done with an electric cart. And the last part to the game chancel is walking. Children 10 years and older are welcome to to come wildly tracking in the game chancel.

European bison on the Veluwe

At Radio Kootwijk, a special location on the Veluwe, you can from 2016 meet the wisent. The wisent is a type of buffalo that was released on the Veluwe because centuries ago this was also its habitat. Of course during this excursion you will also encounter deer, roe deer and wild boar.

Would you like to do your own game tracking in the Veluwe? Then rent an electric bike and drive a beautiful route, provided free of charge, across the Veluwe. Chances are you will encounter wildlife yourself.
