Kootwijk

In the municipality of Apeldoorn lies a very small village in the middle of the forests, called Kootwijk. Despite the size of the village, it is still a major tourist "attraction. This is mainly due to its location between the heathlands and still active sand drifts. In fact, the Kootwijkerzand is the largest living sand drift in Western Europe. Near Kootwijk you also have the monumental Radio Kootwijk, which was built in the 1920s as a broadcasting station for contact with the Dutch East Indies. From the Veluwe Specialist Otterlo and Hoenderloo there are several routes along Radio Kootwijk.
