Radio Kootwijk

Website: hierradiokootwijk.nl/

In the middle of the Veluwe, the forests suddenly change into open plains with heaths and sand drifts. Near this area is the monumental transmitter building Radio Kootwijk find. This was used early on to maintain contact with what was then the Dutch East Indies. Its unusual architecture and location among the sand drifts makes Radio Kootwijk an incredibly unique attraction.

Partly because of this, this landmark is also included in many different cycling routes. For quiet bike rides with a normal bicycle or electric bicycles it is a nice stopover. But also, for example, for a active bike ride through the woods and sand drifts with a mountain bike this is a great place for a stopover. So are you going to enjoy a day or weekend trip to the Veluwe with family or friends then take a fun trip across the Veluwe and stop at the imposing Radio Kootwijk transmitter building.
