Middachten Castle and Estate is located in the Dutch village of De Steeg (municipality of Rheden) in Gelderland, not far from the river IJssel. It is surrounded by the Middachten estate. It is a richly protected historic buitenplaats with 40 complex numbers. The castle was restored in 1967-1971. Middachten was included by the Ministry of Welfare, Public Health and Culture (WVC) in 1991 in the list of over 100 immovable monuments, which in exceptional circumstances require special protection.
