Ginkel Heath

Ginkel Heath

The Ginkelse heide is a nature reserve in Ede. It is known for its vast heathlands but it is also lined with forest. It is an area to enjoy walking around or cycling. There are several bicycle tours that take you to the most beautiful places. Besides the beautiful natural surroundings, the Ginkelse Heide is also known for the air landings that took place here as part of Operation Market Garden. This World War II event is still remembered here every year.

If you rent one of the transportation vehicles from the Veluwe Specialist Otterlo you can of course choose a route that visits the Ginkelse Heide visits. This way you experience the Ginkelse heath in a funny way with the balance bikes. Prefer something a little less active? Then rent a E-chopper and enjoy the Veluwe without any effort. The Ginkel Heath is not a national park so you can go there completely free of charge.
