Doesburg Mill

Website: doesburgermolen.nl/

There it stands, the Doesburger mill. This one dates from ... ...we don't know! Various dates are mentioned, 1401, 1471, 1507, nothing is certain. What we do know is that it is one of the oldest mills in the Netherlands.

As early as 1401 there was talk of windmills in Garderen, Kootwijk and Ede. We know that there was definitely a windmill in Ede in the 15th century. This was set on fire by enemy troops in 1467. The oldest part of the mill is the standerd. Circa 1620 the tree from which it was made was felled. The Doesburgermolen has had several owners and was sold to the municipality of Ede in 1950.
