BLOG: E-mountain biking around Hoenderloo, a challenging experience!

Posted 2019-06-18

Want to discover new roads, gravel trails, sand climbs and singletracks on mountain bike? Then go mountain biking with our GPS route! We have a 25 km and 40 km route where you choose the most beautiful trails yourself via the compass on the GPS. The area around Hoenderloo is very wooded, has drifting sand areas and heathlands. The perfect combination for a mountain bike tour!

Dive into the woods
Upon departure, you immediately follow the GPS and find your own way. It may take some getting used to at first, but soon you find the nice trails and dive into the forest. You immediately get the feeling that you can go your own way and get off the beaten path. Immediately I hit a short, fun descent where the speed goes up for a while. A good start of the route!

Loose sand
After a brief stop for a photo, you'll arrive at the drifting sand area. On this part of the trail you are immediately challenged. With, you guessed it, whole sections of loose sand on the path where you have to struggle through with your mountain bike! After this challenging bit of mountain biking, it is time for a quieter piece and you can enjoy the surroundings. Soon you are cycling over the heathland and in the distance you can see the imposing building of Radio Kootwijk, what a cool location!

Full throttle!
After taking a look at this unique spot, you'll start looking for the fun trails that will bring you back to Hoenderloo. In no time you are surrounded by nature again and cross the singletracks with short challenging descents. You also pass some stretches on the heath where you share paths with hikers and horseback riders. The last part towards the Veluwe Specialist in Hoenderloo goes over some long lanes through the forest. Here you can put some serious pressure on the pedals. Mountain biking is fun, and when you get home you get the wonderful feeling that you have been sporty for a while! In short, a cool route that is not only suitable for the mountain bikes but certainly also for the E-mountain bikes with the extra-thick tires and electric support.
