    Practical information
  • I am pregnant, can I climb?

We do not recommend climbing with us if you are pregnant. However, if you really want to come climbing, always consult your midwife. They can determine whether or not this activity is suitable for you.

  • How does the security system work?

The ExpoGlider system is a safety system where the lifeline is hooked up from the very first point you go up. During the course it is attached to the steel cable above the elements. Only at the end of the course can it be disconnected again. As a result, you are continuously secured during the climbing activity and only need to maneuver the ExpoGlider through the curves. There is no question of disconnecting and reconnecting while climbing, like the authentic system.

  • Why is this climbing forest the safest climbing forest in the Netherlands?

We use a system unlike other climbing forests that never allows you to get loose. We use the exploglider system. Also, we are TÜV certified and our instructors are trained with a multi-day mandatory course that is repeated every year.

  • How long can I climb?

A block takes 2.5 hours including instruction. The instruction including putting on materials takes about half an hour. So you have at least 2 hours to climb.

  • From what age is Klimbos Garderen suitable?

We do not use an age in our climbing forest but a minimum height of 1.20 meters. Unlike other climbing parks that often use an age and minimum length of 1.30 meters or even 1.50 meters.

  • My children want to climb independently, is this allowed?

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult when climbing. Kids must be at least 1.20 meters tall to enter the park. For more info, see our rules and regulations.

  • As adults, should I come along as an escort for the children?

Because we have a safety system where you are continuously secured, you are not obliged to climb with your kids (provided they are older than 12 years!). Of course we advise you to climb with them, just because it is fun for everyone!

  • How many children may I accompany as an adult on a course?

You can accompany a maximum of 3 children per adult.

  • Can my 14-year-old son or daughter accompany my other 10-year-old son or daughter?

Yes this is possible! If the 14 year old does not dare to continue, this also means that the 10 year old cannot continue. As a parent you must be present in our climbing forest.

  • Do I need to choose a course in advance?

No, you can choose the course you want to start with after the instructions. You have 2 hours and the opportunity to do multiple courses.

  • Is there anything for those not climbing with us to do?

Yes, at our park there is the highest picnic table in Europe to climb and clamber on. But there is also something for the little ones to do. It is possible opposite the climbing forest to visit the play loft of family restaurant the Wildebras. Here the children can play freely while the parents can sit carefree on the terrace, in the restaurant or climbing forest Garderen. Furthermore, a short distance from the climbing forest is the Veluwe Specialist. A rental shop where bicycles, e-steps, gps systems and Twizy's are rented. Also, if you have a family day, for example, and not everyone wants to climb, you can choose a package with, for example, Road bowling and a covered wagon ride.

  • And if I don't dare, what then?

Should you decide not to go after all, you cannot get a refund of your entry fee. If you are halfway down the course and you are not so sure how to proceed, our experienced instructors will provide tips and help you as best they can.

  • How should I be dressed?

It is advisable to wear comfortable-fitting clothing and proper footwear. Long hair should be put up.

  • May I use my own climbing equipment?

The use of your own climbing equipment is not permitted. Due to safety reasons, wearing our climbing belts is mandatory.

  • Are there lockers to store valuables?

Yes, we provide these free of charge.

  • Is there a toilet available?

Yes, there is a restroom in our park.

  • Can I bring my own drinks and food into Klimbos Garderen?

No, this is not allowed. You can get soft drinks, water, coffee/tea, snacks, chips and ice cream in the climbing forest. When you book a children's party this is included in the package. Across the climbing forest you can have lunch, drinks and dinner at restaurant de Wildebras.

  • Can I make reservations on the day?

Yes this is possible! Please call 0577-401506 Monday through Friday to check for availability. On weekends, we can be reached at 0577 460443. Please do this at least 2 hours before you want to go climbing.

  • Do I have to pay if I don't climb?

Only those who go climbing have to pay. For spectators, the park is freely accessible: there are picnic tables where you can take a seat to take nice pictures! If you have made a reservation but decide in the park not to go up or further, it is unfortunately not possible to get a refund.

  • What time in advance should I attend?

You must be present 15 minutes before the start. After this 15 minutes, if you have not yet paid, your reservation may be given away to others. You can then quietly park your car (free of charge), walk to the climbing forest and receive your climbing belts. Enjoy a cup of coffee in our climbing forest at the highest picnic table in Europe.

  • I want to organize a birthday party for my child, is this possible?

Yes, we have put together some fun combinations where the kids can eat pancakes or fries after climbing. You do need to book this in advance.

  • I have damage to my clothing, am I insured for this?

Any damage caused to your clothing is at your own risk. This also applies, for example, to your glasses: we therefore advise you to bring your sports glasses or make sure there is a lanyard on your glasses. Please note that you will be climbing in a forest, where the trees can give off resin! Keep this in mind when choosing your clothing.

  • I haven't exercised in a long time, can I handle the Klimbos?

If you are physically healthy you should be able to handle our routes. Before you start, you will receive instructions to then take on the challenge step by step. Do not hesitate to ask our instructors how you can overcome an obstacle more easily. We are here to help you!

  • Will the climbing continue even with bad weather?

Yes, climbing can be done in many weather conditions. Thereby, the forest is extra sheltered. Only when safety is compromised, such as during a thunderstorm, can a mutual decision be made to cancel the climbing or reschedule the appointment. Not sure if the weather permits climbing? If so, please call 0577-401506 or 0577-460443.

  • Can I bring a dog to the climbing forest?

No, you are not allowed to bring your dog in our park.
