The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a mushroom walk on the Staverden estate on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Fly agaric, honey mushroom, sulfur head, elf bench. Behind these fairy-tale-like names lie fascinating stories. Join the forest ranger on a walk through the Staverden estate and discover how mushrooms work together with trees and plants. Many mushrooms live in harmony with trees, helping them absorb nutrients while receiving sugars in return. This partnership is essential to the forest’s ecosystem. Along the way, you’ll learn more about their shapes, colors, and role in the ecosystem. A captivating tour full of nature, stories, and special encounters this fall.
