The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a leisurely walk on the Staverden estate on Sunday, September 20, 2026. During this walk, we’ll reflect on the transition from summer to fall. September is a month of change. Berries are ripe and provide an important food source for birds. Many summer birds have already left, while the first winter visitors are arriving. Along the Staverdense Beek and in the surrounding forests, moisture and dropping temperatures are bringing forth the first mushrooms, especially in the stream valley and in sheltered spots in the forest. This period clearly shows how the landscape is preparing for fall and how plants and animals are responding to it.
