Iron Age Day

Iron Age Day

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, everyone can experience what it was like to live during the Iron Age. The annual Iron Age Day will take place at the Iron Age Farm in Wekerom/Lunteren, featuring activities for all ages.
What was life like more than 2,000 years ago?
Visitors can experience the Iron Age in various ways: weaving by hand as people did in the past, and making bronze jewelry and pottery jars just as they did during the Iron Age. For children, there’s a reading from an exciting book every hour on the hour, as well as a short scavenger hunt. You can grind your own flour from wheat grains to make your own pancakes at home. In the farmhouse, you can watch a computer-generated reconstruction of an Iron Age farmstead and see how people lived during the Iron Age. At Museum Lunteren, you can see the mammoth calf, test your knowledge of vegetables and grains from the Iron Age, and learn much more about the past.
