On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a hike through a landscape in transition near Epe. An exclusive tour through a hidden swamp forest. The Vossenbroek is a wooded nature reserve along the A50 near the hamlet of Loobrink, south of Epe. In June, the area transforms into a sea of (rare) flowers. Because there is little active management, it can eventually be considered a forest reserve. On the western side, the area gradually transitions into the existing landscape around Loobrink, creating beautiful transitions. It lends itself well to the further development of the alder swamp forest. Various marsh plants grow beneath the alders, such as marsh sedge, yellow iris, bog asphodel, marsh feather grass, and alder sedge. The forest rangers will tell you more about it.
Advance online reservation is required.
Time: starts at 2:00 PM. Duration: approx. 1.5 hours.
Participation: €6.00 per person; €3.00 per person for donors upon presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
Tip from the forest ranger: parking is limited, so please come by bike if possible. Also, be sure to wear sturdy (waterproof) footwear.
Unfortunately, the hike is not suitable for children.
