Wildlife observation, Daendels' yard

Wildlife observation, Daendels' yard

The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing wildlife observation tours at the De Dellen estate on Saturday, May 16, 23, and 30, 2026. The De Dellen nature reserve is home to many red deer and wild boars. At the start of the excursion, the ranger will brief participants about the animals and their habitat. Once inside the wildlife observation post, it’s important to be as quiet as possible so the animals don’t notice our presence. You’ll stay in the observation post until sunset, waiting for the wildlife to appear. It may take a while for the animals to show themselves; patience is key during this excursion. This gives you the chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the tranquility of nature. Hopefully, you’ll get the chance to see some of these majestic red deer and wild boars! Advance online reservations are required.

• Time: starts at 7:30 p.m. (May 16 and 23), 8:00 p.m. (May 30). Duration: approx. 2.5 hours.
• Participation: €15.00 per person, €7.50 per person for donors upon presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
• Tip from the forest ranger: bring binoculars.

Please note:
• Wild animals are unpredictable; their presence is not guaranteed.
• To avoid disturbing the animals, it is necessary to remain silent, turn off your phone, and refrain from taking photos.
• Wear dark, quiet, and warm clothing and avoid wearing perfume.
• The walk to the wildlife observation post takes about 20 minutes (one way) and partly follows a narrow, unpaved, and uneven path. It will be twilight or dark on the way back. It is therefore important that you are steady on your feet.
• Participants must be 12 years or older; dogs are not allowed.
