The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a cultural-historical walk through the Staverden estate on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Staverden is situated in a stream valley between two moraines formed during the penultimate ice age. The landscape that has developed since then has had a major influence on both the settlement of the area and on agriculture and nature. From burial mounds to castles and from fields to red deer, everything at Staverden is connected to its location in the stream valley. During the walk, the forest ranger will discuss the geology, nature, and cultural history of this beautiful estate.

• Participation: €6.00 per person, children ages 4–12 €3.00 per person, donors €3.00 per person, children ages 4–12 of donors €1.50 per person upon presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
