On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a cultural-historical walk through the Biljoen estate. Biljoen is an old estate. It is a typical example of an estate landscape featuring a castle with an adjoining coach house, tenant farms, streams and ponds, parkland, and meadows. The estate’s natural environment is unique and has been shaped by human hands. It features old trees, a flowing stream, and numerous water features with cascades. There are also unique and sometimes rare plant and animal species. An attractive area for a walk, therefore. The forest ranger will discuss the history, culture, and nature of the estate. Biljoen Castle is visible but is not open to the public, nor is the private section of the park behind the castle. Advance online reservation is required.
