On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a varied and challenging hike through the Sysselt. We’ll walk along the moraine near the Sysselt and through the valley of the Renkumse Beek. Along the way, we’ll come across beautiful spots where we can see how people used to be connected to nature. During the hike, the forest rangers will talk about forest management as well as areas where nature is allowed to take its course. A wonderfully varied hike and highly recommended for serious hikers! Good to know: for this hike, it is important to be in good physical condition. Advance online registration is required.
• Time: starts at 10:00 a.m. Duration: approx. 6 hours.
• Participation: €10.00 per person; €5.00 per person for donors upon presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
• Tip from the forest ranger: The hike is approximately 15 km long. The hike is not suitable for children under 12 or for people with mobility issues. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes, bring something to sit on, and bring binoculars. Bring your own lunch and drinks for the hike. The hike ends in Wolfheze, and from there we’ll take public transportation back to the Ede-Wageningen station. Please ensure you have a valid ticket.
