STAVERDEN - The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a cultural-historical walk on the Staverden estate on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Staverden is a beautifully preserved estate featuring several interesting farmhouses, unique buildings, and monuments associated with the castle, such as a coach house, orangery, chapel, and a recreation hall. During the walk across the estate, the forest ranger will discuss the buildings and their history. The walk follows a route that partly passes through the closed-off section of the estate. You’ll also visit a few buildings that are normally off-limits to the public. The walk ends at the visitor center with light refreshments.
The farms and homes are still inhabited, so we ask participants to show appropriate respect during the tours. Advance online registration is required.
• Time: starts at 10:00 a.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
• Participation: €10.00 per person; €5.00 per person for donors upon presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
• Tip from the forest ranger: Wear sturdy hiking shoes. It is a strenuous hike and therefore less suitable for children under 12 years of age.
