STAVERDEN - On Sunday, January 18, 2026, the forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a cultural-historical walk on the Staverden estate. Join the walking tour and discover how this unique estate functioned completely self-sufficiently at the beginning of the last century. Accompanied by the forest ranger, you will learn how agriculture, forestry, and land reclamation were used to keep the estate running. You will pass the historic watermill, essential for grinding grain and animal feed, and gain insight into the importance of this mill for daily life on the estate. During the walk, you will hear more about the facilities of the time, such as the school, bakery, chapel, and hunting. A special opportunity to see how an estate sustained itself. Advance online reservations are required.
Time: starts at 2:00 p.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
