HEERDE - The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a cultural-historical walk across the De Dellen estate on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Take a walk with the forester through the part of De Dellen estate where the history of the Buys Ballot family is still tangible. From 1852 to 1928 this was their property. Prof. Chr. H.D. Buys Ballot, founder of KNMI, found peace for his scientific work here as well as developing the estate with forestry. His son Cornelis Sebastiaan continued the management until his death in 1928. Along the way you will hear stories about their lives, their work and their influence on the landscape of De Dellen. Advance online reservations are required.
