STAVERDEN - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a bicycle tour of the Staverden estate on Sunday, October 5, 2025. During the bicycle tour, the forester will tell you about the rich history of the area: the castle, the Van Haersolte family and the settlement that flourished here centuries ago. We stop at picturesque farms, prehistoric burial mounds, ancient castellated fields and remains of a Roman marching camp. At a leisurely pace we will discover the most beautiful spots of the estate and its surroundings. Please note that this bicycle tour is intended for adults and offers the chance to enjoy the landscape and its rich history at leisure. Booking in advance online is required.
Time: start at 2 p.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
Participation: 6.00 euro p.p., donors 3.00 euro p.p., on presentation of a valid GLK donor pass.
Tip from the forester: Make sure you have your bike well under control, even on loose sandy paths. Are you riding an e-bike? Keep in mind that we cycle at a leisurely pace, matched to regular bikes.
