STAVERDEN - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a walk through the smallest town in the Netherlands on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Staverden Estate is a beautifully preserved area, with a wealth of interesting farms, special buildings and monuments closely linked to the castle. For example, you will find a coach house, an orangery, a hushed chapel and a historic relaxation room. During the walk around the estate, the forester takes participants on a journey through time, where he knows how to tell fascinating stories about these buildings and their heritage. The walk is unique because the route leads partly through the closed part of the estate, giving you the chance to see some buildings that are not normally open to visitors. The walk ends at the castle, where you can enjoy a snack and a drink. Advance online reservations are required.
Time: starts at 2 p.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
Participation: 6.00 euro p.p., donors 3.00 euro p.p. on presentation of a valid GLK donor pass.
Tip from the forester: Wear sturdy walking shoes because it is a long walk and therefore not suitable for children. It is important to remember that the farms and houses on the estate are still inhabited. We therefore ask for appropriate respect during the tours to ensure that the privacy of the residents is respected.
