On Saturday, September 13, Biljoen Castle will open its doors. The stables in the coach house and part of the castle can be visited free of charge.
Castle Biljoen dates back to 1530 and has been owned by Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen since 2008. Since then, the castle has been extensively restored and has been inhabited for several years, as prescribed by the last private owner.
Booking a free entrance ticket is necessary to visit the castle. There are different time slots between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Park forest excursions
The surrounding park forest with old trees, stream and water features with cascades is also worth a visit. The estate is home to unusual plant and animal species. Educational foresters leave every hour in front of the carriage house for a guided tour. At 4 p.m. the last group starts. Reservations for the park forest tours are required.
