Green meadow walk, Staverden estate

Green meadow walk, Staverden estate

STAVERDEN - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a walk through the green meadows of Staverden estate on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Grasslands and meadows may seem simple at first glance, but they are home to enormous biodiversity. From flowery hay fields along the Staverden stream to herb-rich grasslands full of special plants. Each landscape has its own role in nature. The sweet, nutritious English ryegrass also plays an important function within the landscape. At the beginning of Biodiversity Week, we will take participants on a discovery tour of versatile grasslands. You'll learn what plants and animals live here and why preserving these areas is so important. From fluttering butterflies and singing skylarks to hidden herbs and grasses. There's something to discover everywhere. Advance online reservations are required.
Time: starts at 2 p.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
Participation: 6.00 euro p.p., children 4-12 years 3.00 euro p.p., contributors 3.00 euro p.p., children 4-12 years of contributors 1.50 euro p.p. on presentation of a valid GLK contributor card.
Tip from the forester: It is fun to install the app Obsidentify on your phone in advance and take it with you fully loaded. We are also on our knees in the grass, keep that in mind with your clothing.
