WEKEROM - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a challenging walk with a historical touch on the Wekeromse Zand on Saturday, May 3, 2025. This long walk of about 15 km takes us across the Wekeromse Zand to the Goudsberg, the Middle Point of the Netherlands, and back. During the walk we encounter traces that show how the landscape was and is shaped by both man and animals. We discover what can sometimes still be found many years later. This can range from traces on the sand to comb fields, from an Iron Age farm to the presence of moorland cows. Advance online reservations are required.
Time: start at 10 a.m. Duration: approx. 6 hours.
Participation: 6.00 euro p.p., donors 3.00 euro p.p., on presentation of a valid GLK donor pass.
Tip from the forester: Bring lunch and drinks for on the way. Because of the length and the loose sand, the walk is not suitable for people with reduced mobility and not for children under 12.
