Wolves on the Veluwe - walking excursion National Park Veluwezoom

Join our guide and discover all about the life of the wolf in the Netherlands. During a beautiful walk across Veluwezoom you will get answers to questions such as: How do we recognize wolf tracks? What can we do if we find those tracks? What should we do if we encounter a wolf? What is the role of the wolf in the ecosystem? How do wolves live? What do they hunt and how many miles do they walk in a day? Do humans and wolves go together? And what is the challenge for conservationists in the future?

Wolf definitely back in the Netherlands
The wolf is definitively back in the Netherlands after a female wolf officially settled in the northern part of the Veluwe and met a male. The male and female had five cubs in 2019.

Education and cooperation
Many people know very little about how the wolf lives. Natuurmonumenten therefore works together with other organizations to provide information about the wolf. In areas where wolves settle, for example, Natuurmonumenten works together with sheep farmers to ensure that their livestock is protected. Natuurmonumenten organizes wolf excursions in a number of areas to provide information about this impressive animal.

During this excursion we will not see any wolves. Of course there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, also during the walk outside.
We will start with a 2-minute film in the visitor center, then we will go outside.
