Wandering tour: To the Elsberg Veluwezoom

Join one of five rambles across the beautiful Veluwezoom! The guides will introduce you to the most beautiful areas and tell you about both nature and history. You will walk about 14 km and start at 10 am, around 4 pm you will be back at the starting point.

Looking for rutting, burbling deer...?
This ramble starts in the beautiful, hilly moorland around the Posbank. You hike to the wildlife observation point the Elsberg. At this viewpoint we hope to see and hear how the male red deer try to impress the ladies. They sometimes bellow for hours, that is, they scare off their rivals through loud bellowing in order to mate. During the walk you have a chance to encounter game or its tracks. Think of red deer, fallow deer, roe deer or wild boar.

During this walk the guide will tell you about earlier times when there were settlements here, iron mining and a very specific use of the wasteland. On the prairie-like moors you may come face to face with Scottish Highlanders or ravens, which feast on a carcass left behind.

Hiking condition
We walk about 14 km through a terrain with considerable height differences and on sandy paths. Therefore, this tour is only suitable for people with a good walking condition. The group consists of a maximum of 12 participants and 2 guides.
