Take a walk with us on the Hoog Buurlose Heide and learn more about the management that the Forestry Commission has been carrying out since the arrival of the wolf. A wolf has been living on the Midden Veluwe since 2019. Later a male wolf also settled in the area and in 2022 the first 4 wolf cubs were born. For many years, sheep have been managing the moors and grasslands in this area. Since the arrival of the wolf, the Forestry Commission has had to change the way of working. You are taken along various measures, such as wolf-proof fencing, which have been deployed to prevent conflicts between the two. This has created a situation where sheep and wolves can live side by side. During the walk you will also learn more about the wolf and its effects on the Veluwe nature.
