Steam train festival 'Back to the Past' - VSM

In the first weekend of September, the Veluwsche Stroomtrein Maatschappij organizes the largest steam train festival in the Netherlands: "Back to the Past". In fact, this unique event is unparalleled in Western Europe, because nowhere else are so many locomotives "under steam" at the same time.
From 08:30 to 17:30 both days restored steam locomotives of the VSM will run. With lengths of up to 23 meters and weights over 130 tons, they are among the largest in Europe. During the festival, all operating locomotives will be in action.
"Back to When" takes place at two locations: the Museum Steam Depot in Beekbergen and Loenen Station. Steam trains shuttle between the two sites, where visitors will discover historic steam vehicles, classic cars, model railroad tracks and market stalls.
