On Ascension Day, May 29, 2025, the National Steam Train Day will take place in Apeldoorn. The Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij (VSM) will run several steam trains between Apeldoorn, Beekbergen and Loenen on this day.
In the Museum Steam Depot there are several activities to experience. Visitors can take a look inside a steam locomotive, view restoration work on historic trains and see how locomotives are shunted and take on water at the water columns. There will also be freight trains running from Beekbergen and historic diesel locomotives.
For snacks and drinks, visitors can visit the terrace in Beekbergen. And for early risers: those on a dewdrop may take their bicycles on a number of trains free of charge on this day
