STAVERDEN - The forest rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a walk across the Staverden estate on Sunday, January 19, 2025, with a special focus on water. Without water, Staverden would not have existed. As early as the 13th century, a water mill was built along the stream and thus began its activity. For this, however, an additional mill stream had to be dug. The fact that water flows through the Staverdense beek in both summer and winter is due to the geological situation that arose after the last two ice ages. During the walk, the forester explains how the estate has developed over the centuries and what role water has always played in it. Advance booking online is required.
