Animals in winter, Staverden estate

STAVERDEN - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing a walk on Sunday, December 1, 2024 on the Staverden estate in which they will be looking specifically for tracks of large and small animals. Join the forest ranger on this winter walk and discover how animals spend the cold months. In winter, wildlife does not have it easy, but they are used to it. Most animals do not hibernate. Squirrels, badgers and moles stay in their burrows a lot, while deer and deer search for food even under the snow. Birds that don't tolerate the cold migrate south, and insects hide in the ground or behind tree bark. During the hike, the forester will tell you all about the winter behavior of these animals and perhaps together you will discover traces of their presence. This excursion is perfect for both young and old to experience nature in winter. Advance online reservations are required.

Time: start at 2 p.m. Duration: approx. 2 hours.
Participation: 5.00 euro p.p., children 4-12 years 2.50 euro p.p., donors free of charge on presentation of a valid GLK donor card.
