Different style periods from the 18th century are reflected in this exhibition in a collection of English ceramics.
During the "Pot Stories" exhibition, visitors will have the chance to see masterpieces from an extraordinary private collection of English ceramics against the backdrop of an 18th-century interior.
They are the masterpieces from the private collection of Nicholas van Eek, a private collector who has built up a large collection of 18th-century ceramics over 35 years. Most of the objects date from the 18th century and have never before been shown to the public. These are English ceramics that were already very popular in the Netherlands in the 18th century. Some were produced especially for the Dutch market.
The collection consists of tableware and utensils such as teapots, kettles, plates, vases and bowls, among others. It shows well how the different style periods in the 18th century, for example Rococo, Chinoiserie and motifs from Neoclassicism, were expressed in ceramic objects.
Open until 5 p.m. during fall break.
