STAVERDEN - The rangers of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen are organizing an informative bicycle tour of the Staverden estate and its surroundings on Saturday, August 3, 2024. The Staverden estate covers 750 hectares and is beautifully situated in a picturesque stream valley. Led by the forester, you will explore the rich history of the area. You will learn about the beautiful Staverden Castle, which was built over 700 years ago near the former water mill. The forester tells how in the midst of wasteland a lively agricultural settlement flourished.
During the bike ride, we will traverse the estate and its surroundings, possibly stopping briefly at picturesque farms, prehistoric burial mounds, ancient castellated fields, or the traces of a Roman marching camp. We will take it easy and there will be a lunch break halfway through.
Please note that due to the nature of the route, this bike tour is not suitable for children.

Time: start at 10 a.m. Duration: about 4 hours.
Participation: 8.00 euros p.p., donors 3.00 euros p.p. on presentation of a valid GLK donor pass.
