Otterlo
Just like last year, we go to the Mossel Valenberg lookout point at the beginning of the red deer rut. On the way there, the guide will explain what the red deer rut is all about. When does it start, and who determines the whole game of rutting what can you see during the rut. With this introduction to the red deer rut, we hope you will enjoy and understand even more of what goes on in the Veluwe forests during this period. It will be a brisk walk in the early evening so we also have a chance to spot wildlife. The walk will go through the forest in the direction of the Valenberg, the hill offers great views of the open and rolling landscape. In clear weather, landmarks such as Radio Kootwijk the radio/TV tower of Ugchelen, Otterloo and Arnhem can be seen. But of course we hope on the plain to observe some wildlife such as wild horses, cows, wild boars, deer or red deer.

It will be a varied and brisk walk with a long rest at the viewpoint so feel free to bring a small sitting stool or the like and binoculars.
Participation is free; signing up is required.
