Wildlife spotting in the Veluwe - Hemelots Vierhouten

In the woods near Vierhouten stands the Wildarena Hemellootjes. A place that has everything to see wildlife, a wildlife field, shelter, space and tranquility. From this wildlife observation post you have a breathtaking view of a clearing with a pond where red deer, wild boar, roe deer and fallow deer like to be seen. The Wild Arena can only be visited with a guide from the Forestry Commission.

After a short introduction, with coffee or tea, you walk with the guide from the village Vierhouten to the forest. Through an exciting, dark and winding path you come to this the wildarena. You stay here for over an hour, hoping to spy the wildlife. When the sun is down, we walk back together.

Practical information:
- Start times change during the season
- Wear sturdy shoes and bring your binoculars
- Beware, wildlife is easily startled, it should be as quiet as possible
- Therefore, phones should be turned off and photography is not allowed due to nuisance and disturbance
- Wear dark, non-zip clothing, do not wear perfume and bring a bottle of water with you against coughing
- Not suitable for people with mobility problems because of the walk in the dark over unpaved forest paths
- Dogs are not allowed
