Winter concert: Recital by pianist Nikola Meeuwsen

Make this Saturday a special day and come enjoy the recital of top young pianist Nikola Meeuwsen.

During this afternoon Nikola will play three top pieces:
Drei Klavierstücke, D946 by Schubert, Intermezzo op. 117 no. 3 by Brahms and finally Sonata op. 11 no. 1 by Schumann.

Nikola Meeuwsen is a winner of the Steinway Competition (2012), the Royal Concertgebouw Competition (2014), the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award (2019) and the Grachten Festival Prize (2022). He studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Marlies van Gent and with Enrico Pace at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica Internazionale in Imola, Italy. He performs regularly with the Residentie Orkest in the Concertgebouw, gives solo recitals throughout Europe and plays chamber music with the Matangi Quartet, with violinist Alexander Kerr and with viola player Vladimir Mendelssohn.

Piano duos he forms with such luminaries as Igor Roma, Anna Fedorova, Thomas Beijer and Enrico Pace. The young top pianist is a welcome guest at festivals such as the Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog, Storioni Festival, Festival Classique and in the new festival Classical NOW! Two years ago, AVROTROS presented his debut CD with works by Schumann, Scriabin, Brahms and Bach. From the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds, Nikola has a beautiful Bösendorfer grand piano on loan.
