Times of old revive on this day. It is then again Ox Market in this Veluwe town. This traditional autumn market is centuries old. The reason to visit the former “beestenÂmarkt†may have changed over the years, but the “mart†still attracts thousands of visitors. The Ox Market remains a fun day to go to. Traditional autumn market including a fair, flea market, old crafts and children’s attractions. The grounds behind the town hall are dedicated to the farm, where beautiful large farm implements will again be on display.
The working group on movable monuments, of the Puttens Historisch Genootschap, is organizing a demonstration of threshing and the use of rye straw at the Ox Market. The rye will be brought in by horse and farm wagon. Threshing is done with 2 threshing machines, with the threshing stick and flail. The grain is cleaned with the wanne mill. There will be performances by the Putten Farmer Dancers and various old crafts on display. In addition, the Kerkstraat, Dorpstraat, and Achterstraat will feature a fun fair with children's activities, old crafts, and performances.
