Dutch Tile Museum: valuation day - Otterlo

In the AVRO/TROS television program “Tussen Kunst en Kitschâ€, people show “their†tiles, dishes or art pottery to ceramics expert Kitty Lameris with some trepidation, or even pride. They want to hear more about what they brought and are also curious about what their possessions ‘value’.

Our museum is also regularly approached to ask whether it is possible to have antique tiles or pottery valued. Appraiser Ger de Ree is closely associated with our museum. Twice a year he is present in Otterlo to value your pottery and tiles.

Ger de Ree, owner of Capriolus Contemporary Ceramics and appraiser on TV Gelderland's art program ‘Schatgraven’, likes to talk about the peculiarities of tiles and other ceramics. He provides insight into style periods and the technique used on the pieces. His appraisals are popular with enthusiasts and collectors.
Each visitor may bring two pieces of pottery or tiles. Appraisal days are educational and exciting. There is always a chance that a piece of pottery turns out to be something exceptional.

Practical information
The appraisal is free, you only pay the museum entrance fee. The valuation day is from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The whole afternoon is free to walk in.
