Fancy an active hike? Our guides will take you on a Veluwe ramble through the beautiful nature reserve Planken Wambuis. Planken Wambuis is grand and expansive and includes very different types of landscapes. The route has a length of about 12 kilometers. You start at 9:30 am and will be back at the starting point around 1:30 pm.
The ramble goes through a varied and wild nature reserve. You walk through forests, along heathland, shifting sands, grazing meadows and fields. Here you will almost certainly encounter one of the grazers: Spanish Sayaguesa cattle, wild New Forest ponies or Veluwe heath sheep. They help to keep the variation in the landscape and increase the habitat of rare plant and animal species here.
The wildlife viewing screen and the various vantage points of Planken Wambuis give you a beautiful view of the open landscape. Here you can take a rest and at the same time spot grazers - and with a little luck - wildlife.
Come roam with us and experience the splendor of Planken Wambuis!
