Roe deer rutting on Oldenaller estate

Running bucks and fawning goats. The roe deer rut on Oldenaller Estate has begun. Walk with the forester between waving grasslands and erratic wooded banks and join him in his search for deer.

During the walk on Oldenaller Estate the ranger tells fascinating stories about the deer that live here.

Search for deer
Deer are shy animals and often only appear at night. They then graze in groups along the edge of the forest. During the rut, bucks go crazy. Under the influence of their hormones, they run wild, chasing the females. Meanwhile, the females are peeping to entice the males. Although no guarantee can be given that the animals will show themselves during the hike, the forest ranger knows the best spots. We walk along winding paths and stately avenues where birds whistle at you from the trees. Along the paths lie colorful grasslands with tall grasses and lots of wild flowers. Here the deer are often hidden. So watch out.
