On Sunday, June 11, 2023, the flock will come from the cage to the village to be sheared. In the center of the village of Rheden is then the Fur Sheep Festival. That shearing is still done the traditional way, with shepherd's scissors.
The program will be completed in the coming days. Here is a first indication of what there is to do and experience at the Fur Sheep Festival.
Program:
8:45 a.m.: sheep arrive in the village at Strijland entry begins accompanied by March and Showband
9.15 a.m.: sheep visit Rhederhof
10.00 hours: sheep flock arrives at Mr. B. van Leeuwenplein / official opening of the Festival music of the Rhedens Fanfare Corps
10.00-17.00 hours Braderie with very nice stalls
10.00-13.00 hours Dressing market for children up to 12 years (also with very nice stuff)
10.30 hours: Open Stage with musicians and fashion show on stage in front of Wapen van Rheden
17.00: Closure market
